Sokoto state government has recruited
1000 natives the local governments service, chairman of the Local
Government Service Commission, LGSC, Alhaji Bello Adamu has
disclosed.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Sokoto recently, the Chairman stated that the gesture by Governor Wamakko was aimed at "consolidating, strengthening and streamlining the local governments administration in the state as well as to further enhance service delivery at the grass roots."
The recruited staff are from junior and senior cadre have been posted to the 23 local governments of the state.
Adamu reiterated the Commission's "resolve and commitment to make local governments more vibrant, viable, productive and effective."
"We will continue to give top priority to rigorous and sustained training and retraining within and outside Nigeria."
While commending Governor Wamakko for his sustained moral and financial support to ensure the success of the activities of the commission, Adamu called on all the staff of the 23 local governments in the state to continue to be punctual and dedicated to their duties to reciprocate the gesture of the state government.
