The Ondo State 3- man election petition tribunal panel has begun
sitting to hear and deliver judgment on the petitions filed by the
governorship candidates of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, the
People’s Democratic Party PDP, Congress for Progressive Change CPC,
Accord Party (AC) and Peoples Democratic Change (PDC) to change the
outcome of the elections.
The three judges are Justice A. Kaka’n, Justice H.S Mohammad and
Justice Kadi M.M Alkali.
The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Kaka’n warned politicians
to bury the thoughts of using any machinery to influence them.
According to him, the tribunal judges have sworn to an oath of
allegiance of discharging their duties without fear or favour to any
party or parties involved.
The Independent Electoral Commission, INEC declared Olusegun
Mimiko of the Labour Party as the winner of the gubernatorial
elections of October 20th.
