An Enugu High Court presided over by Justice Catherine Nwobodo on
Thursday granted bail in the sum of N2 million to a 37-year-old man
accused of fraud.
Nwobodo granted the bail on the ground that the state did not object to his bail application filed since Feb. 23.
Sunday Agbowo was accused of defrauding a company, Nnolum and Sons Ltd, between August 2009 and January 2011.
He was said to have promised to supply 296,100 litres of premium
motor spirit (petrol) valued at N5.04 million but failed to deliver.
He was also accused of defrauding the company of another N6.2 million for the same purpose within the same period.
The court said Agbowo should produce two sureties recommended by his
counsel and who had evidence of tax paid for the past three years and
should be resident within its jurisdiction.
